Light the Sky Let’s Celebrate card

This was a fun card to create! I loved the die cut fire bursts and tried to use gold foil under it but I didn’t like the way it looked. In the end, the background layer was sponged in concentric circles to simulate the colors changing as the fireworks exploded and spread through the skies…

Here’s a closeup of the sponge brushwork under the fire bursts and cut out:

I did the same for the smaller fire bursts in the lower corner:

I also did a fire burst in a heat embossed gold and added a jewel in the center…And a sentiment with a gold accent:

Wish the photos would do this card justice as it looks so much nicer in person! But hopefully you get the idea of the techniques used…Had a lot of fun making it!
