Hello Fabulous card with Bird’s Eye View

OMG isn’t this a darling card with the PERFECT sentiment? It's just one of the options you can put together with the birds (and eyewear) in the Bird's Eye View stamp set!

I found a Pinterest pin by Stamping with Aloha with this design, totally different paper AND different sentiment AND different coloring of the bird. Still, definitely inspired by it but looking quite different! That's often what happens with Pinterest pins...I don't have the set they used, or the same paper or dies but using what they share as inspiration...and voila!!

Since there's little room to write anything without it showing, I added an extra panel inside (as I often do) so that any writing doesn't show on the front of the card. So this is what you see when you lift the first panel (the one with the bird):

And here's the true inside of the card, with a sentiment and a stamped little bird.

This was a super fun card to make! Thanks for stopping by...

Cocktails card for a 21st birthday

I had a special order of a card for a 21st birthday…the celebration was going to include *responsible* drinking with a chauffeured limousine. (I was quite relieved to hear that of course!) With black and pink as the fave colors, I knew that I wanted to use the “Nothing’s Better Than” stamp set and the corresponding “Love You More Than” dies. I love the silly but oh so much fun drink umbrellas,  so of course I had to use the stamp of the cocktail glass with them…And here’s the final product:

I double cut the word “Cocktails” in black then mounted the pink on top to create a shadowed effect. And for the background, I simply stamped the same cocktail glass randomly everywhere on the background.

And I LOVED how the sentiments in this set worked so well with the theme….being awesome and celebrating a birthday! Here’s the inside:

And the last detail was to stamp the envelope:

Since this would be hand delivered, I didn’t have to worry about the stamped image on the front of the envelope being problematic with the post office, but I think it would have been fine anyhow.

Thanks for stopping by & (as the card said)…have an awesome day !

Zany Zoo accordion fun fold card

Goodbyes are sad, especially if you’ve just recently connected with someone in your neighborhood that you saw regularly and always said hi to, but just found that connection. So when there was a small gathering to wish her well, I offered to make a card we could all sign. And I knew immediately that I wanted to use the Zany Zoo set. Why? Because it has a bunch of zoo “characters” that represent (possible) people in our neighborhood! There’s a knitting llama (yes you read that right!), a fox zooming by on a scooter, a hippo ballerina, a bear sitting in a comfy chair reading, a sloth in a yoga post, a hippo wearing a tutu on point, a skunk bird watching, a turtle singing…need I go on? Here’s a photo of the adorable paper pack:

The tough part was finding a card design that would allow me to show off several of the animal characters. I decided on an accordion fold and put panels on the front and back of each accordion fold. Then I had to decide which characters to use! And this is what I came up with and how the front of the card turned out:

Here’s the second “page”

And the third:

Because this card was from a group of people, I hoped that the zany zoo caricatures would coincidentally represent several of us signing the card (and I already knew there was a professional artist among us)… So then on the back, there was room to sign the card and a simple sentiment I printed from my computer.

For the card base, I used a double sided 12x12 card stock from my stash so if you’re wondering, it is indeed blue on one side and fuchsia on the other!

This was a fun card to make and everyone was amazed! That’s why I love making cards …unique, one-of-a-kind cards for special people and their memorable moments. I sometimes don’t have the time, or the inspiration….but when I can,  I sure do love it!

Thanks for stopping by…
