Halloween treats packaging: Origami triangle pouches

There are lots of kids in my neighborhood so Halloween is a particularly adorable time of year! It’s fun to see all the yards decorated with ghouls and skeletons but most of all, I love to see all the cute costumes, hear an adorable “trick or treat” and give out candy!

As a paper stash busting project, I found all my Halloween appropriately colored 12x12” paper, cut them into 6” squares and proceeded to fold them up origami style into little pouches. I filled the pouches with a candy or two, then stapled them with a halloween tag and “Boo” stamped on orange circles. Here’s a sampling of the treat packages:

I prepared about 60 of them this year, plus more candy to give out as well. I’d bet that most kids just went for the candy but I heard a few happy comments on the cute packaging!

Hoping your Halloween was festive and fun. Thanks for stopping by.

Halloween Barista Tag

I had some fun recently with a Halloween name for my favorite barista:

The spider web is actually from an embossing folder that I then colored the webbing using a purple alcohol marker. Interestingly, it changed to a bright pink when I put the glaze on it. The stamp is an old one from my stash…likely 10 or more years old! And the cute (and slightly evil looking) pumpkin is from a die from several years ago.

Isn’t it fun to embellish an otherwise boring but functional name tag for the holidays…?

Thanks for stopping by….have a wonderful day!

Hallowe’en cards: Scary Silhouettes Pop up Card

I created these Hallowe’en cards for my great nieces and nephew, all of whom live on the eastern half of the continent! I usually try to make an interactive card of some kind to entertain the little ones but I hope they liked the dimensional aspect of this one. The main dies used are from the Scary Silhouettes Dies set:

For the side panels, I used some ombre papers from a Salebration freebie from a couple of years ago. To recreate the gathering night time sky, I used blending brushes and Pacific Point and Highland Heather inks. And the bats were stamped using craft white ink. Here’s a closeup of both cards:

No room on front to write anything but there is a panel on the back:

Here’s a top view of the card so you can see how dimensional it is:

And of course these cards fold flat for mailing like this (it kept wanting to pop up again but I think you can get the idea…)

Thanks for stopping by. Hope your Halloween was fun!
