Cozy Christmas Alternates Paper Pumpkin Oct 2025

Only a few months late posting this but at least it’s in the same holiday season! I should have posted these a month or two ago but…life got busy. As it is, I am happy to have finished my Paper Pumpkin kit from October as I am trying to finish up older kits.

The kit is designed to create three cards, each of three designs for a total of nine cards. But instead of the typical 3 cards of each design, two of them were stretched out into six cards and seven cards respectively with minimal extra pieces, other than card bases and a few panels.The third card, I only made three of, but not as originally designed of course. So for starters, here are all the unique cards I designed:

The first one below was created by assembling the large ornament, then cutting it in two. I cut the card bases into two 4x5.25” panels and adhered the ornament to the corresponding side of the panel. When making 6 cards from supplies of 3, I of course ran out of the supplied sentiment labels so I used the banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies which fit the sentiment with the kit perfectly! The red ribbon is from last year’s Nests of Christmas Paper Pumpkin Kit and that added a nice touch to the sentiment label.

Next I created 7 mini trees from the original pieces. I ran out of stars atop the tree so I used a red sequin. I used red print panels from my stash…some Stampin’UP! and some not.  I had a couple of tree pieces left and plan to make a tag out of them.

And last but not least, I created the card below…I don’t know what it’s called but it stands beautifully.:

I added some die cut sentiments on the back of the “JOY” panel so that there’d be a little more room to write a personal message:

I think I have a few card bases or panels left to use another day but most of this kit was used, and in a timely manner as I was able to send these out as some of my holiday greeting! Yaaaay!

Thanksgiving Cards Paper Pumpkin With Love & Gratitude September 2023 Alternates

I’m still in the modes of autumn/fall cards and finishing up older Paper Pumpkin kits, so I checked out what components I had left in this kit. I remember making several cards from the mini envelopes and part of the 3x3” cards previously, but I had the treat bags and many embellishments left. So I used Lost Lagoon for a card base and created multiples of the following card:

I used the top flap from the treat bags and overlapped it onto half of one of the  3x3” cards bases. Then I added the gold foil leaves and then the printed branch & leaves. Perhaps because I used the flap part of the treat bag with the gold trim on it along the top, I decided to follow the downward direction of the (former) flap to have the foliage cascade downwards….

The Happy Thanksgiving sentiment is from the very long ago retired Tiny Wishes stamp set! 

And below is how I stamped the inside of the card and the envelope. I used one of the stamps from the Splendid Day stamp set. But perhaps I should have cascaded the foliage from one of the corners instead to match the card front? So many ways to overthink things…LOL

Paper Pumpkin September 2024 Autumn Abundance Alternates: Diagonal Joyfold & Book Binding cards

I’ve been working on my backlog of kits, including Paper Pumpkins. Figured it was a perfect time to finish up the autumn kit from last year. So I created a card with a new-to-me fun fold called a Diagonal Joy Fold Card using one of the the beautiful card fronts: 

I used a print from the Country Woods DSP pack for the background and I layered it with a rose gold panel. I have to admit that I regretted putting the sentiment on the front…I really liked it better without a greeting there and would have preferred (in retrospect), to have just stamped the inside with the greeting. Oh well…I will not be quite so hasty in the future with my glue! Cutting the original card fronts up, I was able to make several of these cards! Oh and embossing the focal panel “hid” the crease from the original card’s fold line…a great trick to remember!!

Another (set of) alternates were book binding cards made from pieces of the original card fronts, and parts of the envelopes too…and I made a whole bunch of them!

I love how they all look similar but each one is different. And the sparkle of the foil is really elegant, though it only shows on one card and only on one of the photos! I added some neutral sequins as accents in the top right corner and on the sentiment die cut (which is from the Stylish Shapes Dies set - love it!)
