Cozy Christmas Alternates Paper Pumpkin Oct 2025

Only a few months late posting this but at least it’s in the same holiday season! I should have posted these a month or two ago but…life got busy. As it is, I am happy to have finished my Paper Pumpkin kit from October as I am trying to finish up older kits.

The kit is designed to create three cards, each of three designs for a total of nine cards. But instead of the typical 3 cards of each design, two of them were stretched out into six cards and seven cards respectively with minimal extra pieces, other than card bases and a few panels. The third card, I only made three of, but not as originally designed of course. So for starters, here are all the unique cards I designed:

The first one below was created by assembling the large ornament, then cutting it in two. I cut the card bases into two 4x5.25” panels and adhered the ornament to the corresponding side of the panel. When making 6 cards from supplies of 3, I of course ran out of the supplied sentiment labels so I used the banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies which fit the sentiment with the kit perfectly! The red ribbon is from last year’s Nests of Christmas Paper Pumpkin Kit and that added a nice touch to the sentiment label.

Next I created 7 mini trees from the original pieces. I ran out of stars atop the tree so I used a red sequin. I used red print panels from my stash…some Stampin’UP! and some not.  I had a couple of tree pieces left and plan to make a tag out of them.

And last but not least, I created the card below…I don’t know what it’s called but it stands beautifully.:

I added some die cut sentiments on the back of the “JOY” panel so that there’d be a little more room to write a personal message:

I think I have a few card bases or panels left to use another day but most of this kit was used, and in a timely manner as I was able to send these out as some of my holiday greeting! Yaaaay!

If you’re finding this blog entry in 2026 or beyond and have this kit still unfinished, I hope this inspires to you make these cards and finish up your kit too! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Paper Pumpkin Alternates Memorable Meadow March 2024

I had a ton of fun playing with alternates with this month’s kit! I LOVED the daisy print and having the print on both the card front and back meant…cutting it into two and making double the number of cards! I decided to make these cards using the deckled circle dies:

The print was so pretty that I wanted to show it off and NOT cover it up. I loved picking a flower, die cutting it out and framing it with a slightly larger deckled circle in Fresh Freesia to highlight it:

Then I framed the entire print with a layer of Fresh Freesia. The sentiment is from the stamp set in the Paper Pumpkin kit and I tried stamping it with various ink colors and finally settled on heat embossing it in white:

Next, I decided to make some book binding cards and created these:

The following photo shows the card off better so that you can see why it’s called a book binding card design:

And I always embellish the inside of my cards with a stamped image or a scrap of DSP:

And another alternate design I created was a basic easel card and here’s the card closed:

And here’s the card open and propped up:

And a view of card from the side:

I loved this pairing of sentiments from the Lazy Days stamp set and thought it did justice to the beautiful daisies!

I also created a card using the gates from the New Horizon dies but need to take photos of them!

So I’ll end this here for now and hopefully will update it with additional alternates.

Adorable Spring Baskets for Easter etc. Paper Pumpkin March 2024 Alternative

I always have a treat of some kind at each place setting when I teach a card class and I had been WAITING for spring to make these! I knew I wanted to fill them with a little filler grass on the bottom and add chocolate easter eggs! I used a 6x6” piece of Daffodil Delight card stock and I scored a “grid” using my paper trimmer by scoring at 2” and 4” then rotating the paper 90 degrees and repeating the scoring.  This created a “tic tac toe” design of score lines. Then I cut the top 2 and bottom 2 score lines from the edges to the middle and folded the cut edges over and glued them angled and overlapping partially to form a basket! The handle is a  8.5” x .5” strip of card stock. I then cut some of the checkered green and white,  and some checkered pink and white from the March 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit and adhered them to the sides that were folded over. These squares measure 1.75x 1.75”. I added 2-3 punched medium daisies as a focal to the basket…and how cute they turned out! Oh I also used a corner trimmer to round out the corners. Here’s  a close up:

I put a snack size package of gummies, Hershey chocolate eggs and a couple of kisses in each and set them at each seat! They were super cute and a ton of fun to make! I hope you try…if not for Easter, how about Mother’s Day…??

Thanks for stopping by…have a wonderful day!
