3 Cheers & Sips cards - fun fold birthday cards: double gatefold & a bridge card

I love cocktails and they can totally be mocktails -- I don't have to have alcohol in them! I just love how fun they are and that's why I love this new set so much...So many possibilities! I used this set to make a few cards recently and this was the first: a birthday card…

Don’t you just love the umbrella on the tall drink? LOL 😆 Next, for the second birthday card, I created this bridge card:

It’s difficult to see in the photos (and I’ve already sent the card away) but the “cheers” flag is attached to the back and sides so that it pops up when the card is opened but lays flat when the card is folded and tucked into the envelope:

And the third and last card for now, a double flap gate fold card:

Zany Zoo/Zoo Crew Thank you to a knitter

There’s a super fun DSP (Designer Series Paper) paper pack called Zoo Crew which is part of the Zany Zoo Suite with stamps and corresponding dies.  Recently, I created a thank you card for a special knitter friend. The knitting llama was just perfect! I decided on a bridge card and here’s the final card:

If you’re not familiar with a “bridge” fun fold card, this is a top view of it, which makes the “bridge” and design of the card clearer: 

I used several products, retired and current for this card! First and foremost is the seated llama who is knitting. It’s from the Zoo Crew DSP pack and yes I had to fussy cut it out with my paper snips.  But it’s so worth the time and effort to fussy cut! 

The card base is Balmy Blue card stock 8 x 4.25” and I’ve used two patterns from the Bright and Beautiful DSP pack as the back ground of this card.  The “bridge” is made from one of the Nested Essential Dies and cut from Petal Pink cardstock. 

The sentiment is from the Flowering Flowers cling stamp set (stamped in Poppy Parade ink) and the heart is punched from the Bee Builder punch. 

The card needed something more for a  back drop behind the knitting llama so I used the window die from the Welcoming Window bundle and the tree/scenery from the Happy Home set from many years back! Here’s a close up of the window:

And because there was no space to even sign this card on the front, I added a Basic White panel on the back side.

Outdoor cards - Paper Pumpkin May 2023

 Stampin’UP! has a “surprise” kit that is on a monthly subscription which includes everything you need to create the monthly cards inside the box (except for an acrylic block which you get with your first month when you subscribe). You get a few hints, like knowing the basic colors and theme and whether it’s a card or a craft kit (most are card kits) and you can choose to skip a month any time, which I often do skip. But I wanted this month’s kit because of the outdoors-y theme.  

The basic kit, as designed is a beginner kit that isn’t overwhelming or too complicated. This month’s designs were simple but with beautiful scenery and so, the cards didn’t need much: just a greeting! Here are the cards from the kit as designed (meaning all the supplies needed were in the box): 

I often like to change up the design and since I love fun folds, I often use parts of the kit to create different cards by adding some of my own supplies. I used one of the card fronts to create the bridge card below:

      

I liked the way it turned out so much that I made another one with a different card front from the kit and used different stamps:

And here’s a top view that shows why the design is called a “bridge” card….the front panel acts like a bridge across the two folded edges:
